About
I’m Dennis Zhuang. I founded Greptime, where we build GreptimeDB — an open-source database that stores metrics, logs, and traces in one engine instead of three.
I’ve been writing open source since 2008; most of it lives on GitHub.
This blog is where I think out loud: storage engines, distributed systems, observability, and what AI agents are doing to the way software gets built. I read a fair number of papers and write up the ones that change how I think. Opinions are mine, and some of them will age badly.
If any of that sounds interesting, follow me on X or LinkedIn — that’s where new posts show up first. There’s also an Atom feed if you’d rather skip the algorithms.
